Anamalz
Anamalz began with one mum, two little boys, and a simple wish — to create beautiful toys that didn’t clutter the living room with cold plastic.
Founded by Louise, Anamalz was born from a desire for sustainable, thoughtfully designed toys made primarily from wood. At a time when her children were just tiny humans, Louise wanted something different… toys that felt warm, natural, and timeless.
What started as a small idea quickly grew into something extraordinary. Today, Anamalz is an award-winning collection of wooden, fabric, and rope animal toys — playfully named from a clever twist on the word “animals.”
TOYS THAT NURTURE A GREENER GENERATION
From a brief Australian trial in 2006, Anamalz made its international debut at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 2007 and the world quickly took notice. Within a short time, these whimsical creatures had found homes in over 30 countries.
Anamalz toys have appeared in aquariums, zoos, museums, airports, and beloved retailers including the Smithsonian Museum, San Diego Zoo, Baby Gap, Barnes & Noble, and Waterstones.
Over the years, Anamalz has received more than 15 industry awards, including the prestigious Australian International Good Design Award and the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award. They’ve been featured on The Martha Stewart Show, USA Today, and even the Financial Times under the headline “Toy makers who are nurturing a greener generation.”
But perhaps the most meaningful feedback comes from families themselves.
Nearly two decades later, parents often say:
“My kids grew up with these and we still have them. They’re too gorgeous to throw away.”
And that’s exactly the point.
Anamalz are designed to last — not just physically, but emotionally.
